There is an illegal operation originating out of Canada whereby unsuspecting people receive a cashier’s check with a letter stating it is for a “secret shopping assignment” to evaluate the effectiveness of one or more well known wire transfer services. The victim is asked to cash the check, send the bulk of it to an address or account in Canada and retain the remainder as payment for the assignment. Both the cashier’s check and the “assignment” are bogus. This fraudulent company has no connection with ProShoppersOnline or, to our knowledge, with any reputable Secret Shopping service. If you receive anything resembling this, DO NOT CASH THE CHECK.
